Tier Two Behavioral Interventions
Check-In/Check-Out: The Check-In/Check-Out (CICO) Program is a school-wide prevention program for students struggling with either academics or behavior. A student is selected to participate in CICO by Student Services. Students also can be referred by a teacher. CICO provides students with frequent, direct, positive feedback on their behavior and monitors their success in displaying the Reaper behavior expectations. Students are rewarded for good performance and ratings with Pride Pennies.
Social/Academic Instructional Groups: Social Academic Instructional Groups are run weekly by social workers at PHS to support students who need additional direct instruction and discussion on various behavior related topics. Currently groups are run weekly on Monday's during learning lab to limit disruption to student schedules. Students can qualify after going through an earlier intervention such as CICO.
