Aunt Martha's is the agency contracted for Grundy and Kendall counties to provide crisis intervention services to 11-17 year olds who are MRAI youth, homeless, runaway, refuse to go home or are being locked out of the home by their parents.

Kendall Area Transit (KAT)

Serving the greater Kendall County communities public transportation needs.

Fares (one way)

The one-way fare for the KAT demand response service is $3 curb-to-curb or $5 door-to-door. For destinations outside of the county, an additional $2 fee will apply. Seniors (60 years of age and older) receive a $1 discount on all fares. Fares can be handled in one of two ways:

1. Through KAT directly

2. Through one of KAT's sponsor agencies. Note: KAT only transports registered riders to designated locations outside of Kendall County.

Service Area

Kat provides curb-to-curb and door-to-door services for Kendall County residents within sponsoring communities with designated transfers to surrounding communities. Non-sponsoring communities have limited service.

Hours of Service

Bus service is available from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday (except holidays). The last scheduled reservation is 5:30 p.m. Reservation office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday (except holidays). When scheduling trips, priority will be given to those with disabilities and to senior citizens.

Food pantry for low income and emergency food needs for residents in Kendall County.  They distribute food, enough for 3-5 days, every Thursday from 9:00- 10:30 a.m.

Kendall County PADS

Homeless shelter that is open from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Overnight guests will receive a hot meal, a safe place to sleep, breakfast, and a packaged lunch to go. Caring Volunteers will be available at all times.

Free for Families

Growing up in the world today can leave kids scared, confused and unhappy.  The Be Happy, Involved & Positive (BHIP) program is designed to provide parents and their children ages 5 to 17 years old with a safe and secure place to learn about ways to improve their behavior and self-confidence.  This is a free program that is generously funded by the Illinois Children's Healthcare Foundation.

This program is available in English and Spanish and starts with a questionnaire that is reviewed by Rush-Copley Family Medicine Center staff. Then, if parent and child are interested, both group education and counseling is offered.  To date, over 700 screenings have been provided.

Preferred Dental Associates also provides dental services to youth and elders through school or senior based programs throughout the Chicago land area, offering dental care to the underserved or access challenged populations.  Services include; dental exams, cleanings, fillings, extractions, dentures/partials, and sealants for children with permanent molars.

Dr. Pane’ accepts most dental insurance plans and the All Kids state insurance plan. Services are reasonable for those without insurance coverage. Appointments are taken from 9:00am to 3:30pm for the first Friday of the month beginning November 4th 2011.
