PBIS Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports What is it?"Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a system that establishes the behavioral supports needed for all students to achieve social, emotional, and academic success. PBIS guides schools...to create a positive school culture that is safe, respectful, and conducive to learning." - Illinois PBIS Network What does this mean?Schools that implement PBIS experience decreases in discipline problems and a decrease in the amount of time spent by students out of the classroom. Overall this increases academic engagement for students. PBIS also leads to an increased sense of school safety. According to a study in Maryland, PBIS schools demonstrated less bullying behavior, and experienced lower levels of peer rejection for all students. - Illinois PBIS Network How does it work?PBIS is a multi-tiered system aimed at supporting students across the board.

This year we are trying something new! Each quarter we will be highlighting a new issue or concern through a "PBIS Reminder." The topics of these reminders will be determined by the PBIS team based on feedback and data we receieved the previous quarter. These presentations will be given by teaches during their Learning Lab time school wide. We hope to create a more positive school environment for everyone by targeting specific issues or behaviors we see.Below you will find the presentations that we have had so far this year. Look for these to be updated as we roll new ones out!PLANO PRIDE
